MORE THAN JUST A GYM
What does GymRage mean?
Gym Rage is a combination of words Garage Gym, we are not associated with Crossfit. We started in the humblest of settings, where the pursuit was to test our levels of fitness. In the Garage we have found a happy medium of movement mechanics that are safe, effective and beneficial to every individual. We love to apply our fitness in the outdoors, trail running, mountain biking, cross country skiing and fat biking. That's the RAGE!

Thom & Utina Malnourie were working out (just us) in our small gym which at the time was just a normal garage. There was no insulation, no heat, no electricity just a concrete floor with a few pieces of equipment. Some family & friends knew we were working out and had an interest to join us.
We slowly started purchasing a few more barbells, kbs, found some tires, etc. over time, the few people we had together, had friends that were interested.
It was a snowball effect from there, as more people wanted to workout, we realized we had to have some organized workout times and more structure. This all started in 2013. So over the past 4 years we worked out in a pole barn garage and transformed it into a gym with heat, lights, and all the equipment to function. We could only have so many people in one workout time, and only so many groups during the day as we were both still working full time 8-4:30 jobs. As operations grew, Utina left her fulltime job and Thom following the next year to focus on expanding our business.
Requests from people interested in our small gym increased, because of space limitations we had to turn people away. In late 2016 we decided to take the big risk of expanding and building the new gym and both focusing on the business full-time. Within one month after opening the new gym in February 2017, we doubled our membership in adults and youth.
Along the way we have studied and attended seminars in The Movement Fix, Stop Chasing Pain, Precision Nutrition Level 1, Crossfit Certifications Level 1, with Olympic Weightlifting, Endurance, Mobility and Crossfit Kids, Pre & Post Natal Coach Certification and Corrective Exercise Instructor. And Brand X Training Methods.
